Black Women's Leadership Development Working Group
Through the Black Women's Health & Livelihood Initiative landscape analysis conducted in 2019, leadership development for Black women was identified as a significant need for faculty and staff at UCSF. At our retreat, held in November 2019, Black women leaders at UCSF and the Bay Area confirmed this need and identified this as a programmatic direction for the Black Women’s Health & Livelihood Initiative (BWHL).
Next Steps:
With the expertise and experience of Inez Bailey, Nancy Duranteau, LaMisha Hill, Karen James, Alleysha Mullens, Judy Young, and Glamarys Acevedo, The Black Women's Health & Livelihood Initiative is in the planning stages of creating a Leadership Development Program for Black Women at UCSF.
In addition, the BWHL has created a Leadership and Wellness Webinar Series focused on education, inspiration, resources, and community building for and among Black women at UCSF and the Bay Area community launching in December.
