We feature state-of-the-art equipment and products to assist with breastfeeding. Whether you are returning to work or just want more flexibility, we have a variety of breastpumps for your convenience. Let our staff help you rent a pump.

Breastpump Rental Program

Hospital-grade electric pumps are available for use during your hospital stay and for rent once you leave the hospital. We rent the Medela Symphony breastpump.

Medela Symphony
The first breastpump with 2-Phase Expression® technology which is proven to achieve
faster milk ejection and faster milk flow.* It is efficient and comfortable with unique
overflow protection. Features double or single pumping, one knob control
and whisper quiet operation.

Rental fees
Weekly Rentals-$30 plus tax per week*
Monthly Rentals-$100.00 plus tax per month*

All rentals require a $50 credit card deposit for security and cleaning which will be charged at the time of rental. The breast pump must be thoroughly cleaned and in good condition upon return to be refunded the $50 deposit. UCSF Outpatient Lactation Resources

UCSF Women’s Health Obstetrics Lactation services, consultants and consultations UCSF Women’s Health Obstetrics Services has registered nurses with breastfeeding and postpartum knowledge and are also available to answer breastfeeding questions or concerns via the telephone, Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm, (415) 353-3400

In-person and tele-health appointments are available Monday-Friday at Mount Zion or Mission Bay. Appointments are 75 minutes. Please call (415) 353-3400 to schedule an appointment.
Our consultants: Carole Hanson, Sarah Quigley and Sydney Jones are IBCLC's (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants).

UCSF Lactation Accommodation program

Our goal is to provide you a clean and comfortable lactation room. All rooms are equipped with a hospital grade breast pump. Access varies among each lactation room. Please refer to this reference as a guide. Find a  UCSF Lactation Room.
