Orientation to Prenatal Care

  • We deliver outpatient prenatal care at a number of locations (see below) but all deliveries and/or acute visits to the Obstetric Emergency Department take place at the UCSF Birth Center at 1855 4th St., Third floor
  • We are also proud to offer CenteringPregnancy®, a unique approach that takes pregnant people out of exam rooms and into groups for prenatal care. To learn more about CenteringPregnancy® and if it’s right for you, please visit the Centering page for more information.

Prenatal Care during COVID

COVID-19 has offered us an opportunity to think critically about how we see our patients. In an effort to balance your safety with physical distancing during the COVID-19 outbreak, we suggest this schedule for your prenatal visits, balancing both in-person and video visits. This is only a suggested guide.
For most lower risk patients, the graphic below provides the approximate timing of when and what kind of visit is appropriate. You and your obstetric provider (doctor, nurse practitioner, or certified nurse midwife) can make a plan best suited for you and your needs! In an effort to COVID19 and prenatal care infographic
