The emotional, physical, and psychological responses can be overwhelming, and many people find they need guidance through
their grief. We have compiled a list of support organizations and resources dedicated to helping people find a path to healing.
UCSF Pregnancy Loss Resources

UCSF OB/GYN Perinatal Wellness Program (PWP)
The program provides behavioral health services to help prenatal and postpartum patients.
We address mental health needs while providing wraparound support for physical and emotional well-being.
Visit Perinatal Wellness Program to gather more info about the emotional support and care coordination, brief therapy, consultation with our perinatal psychiatrists, pregnancy and postpartum support groups. For an appointment, call (415) 353-3400.

UCSF Life After Loss Support Group
A group for individuals who have ended a wanted pregnancy for medical reasons.
Meets via Zoom on the first Wednesday of each month, 7:00-8:30 pm. There is no cost to attend, and the group is open to the community.

Village Circle: Compassion After Loss
Compassion after Loss Circle: This is a 6-part, bi-monthly, series for Black-identified birthing persons who have experienced an unexpected ending of a pregnancy. Does not need to be a recent perinatal loss. The series focuses on learning about different grieving styles in birthing & non-birthing persons, being in community, cultivating self-compassion following loss, and help navigating difficult emotions you may be experiencing or have experienced.
Next Offering: August 11th 2025 - October 27th 2025 (Space for 8 persons)
Meeting every 2nd & 4th Monday,
Zoom, 6:30p-7:30p (PST). Currently Accepting.

UCSF Black Wellness Clinic
This group typically meets on the last Friday of the month from 4:30-5:30pm, holding space for Black-identified persons who have experienced an abortion. For the most recent schedule, visit: https://embraceblackcare.org/
The clinic offers short-term psychological wellness and mental wellness consultations for Black-identified persons, including psychological services for before and following a perinatal loss and bereavement.
